As you know, traffic is the lifeblood of any business on the Internet. If an offline business doesn't have a good location where they can be seen by possible traffic, they have to advertise a lot to get customers to their location and hopefully visit and make a purchase.
Without traffic to your Internet business or offline business you won't be in business too long. The one thing with the Internet business is you can keep it up as the cost is actually negligible compared to trying to keep an offline business in operation.
The one area I've found in Internet Marketing is to get visitors to your web pages can be extremely difficult. For the most part if you send a prospect to the page where you want to make a sale, they will have to see it about 7 times before they will make a purchase. Most times they will only make a purchase if they know who you are and they can trust you. Therefore, before you can really start selling anything, you need to let your customers get to know you first.
One way I've found to get traffic for free is through traffic exchanges. These are webpages you join to show your page as you surf to build credits by looking at what other people have to offer. When you build up enough credits your pages will then start to be shown and other people will see what you are offering.
When you're surfing these pages many times, the webpages you're viewing will try to sell you something.
Using pages like this will typically get you nothing, as the person that is looking at the page is typically there for one reason. That reason is to earn credits so their page can be shown. Also you need to have a page that loads fast because in many cases with traffic exchanges you have a six second timer so if you're page isn't loaded, then the viewer clicks to the next page. The ideal thing is to use a splash page or short landing page to get their attention and be able to send them to another page where you can get their undivided attention.
